Inspired Internship & Summer Agriculture Conferences

I was blessed to intern with Sweetwater Farms in Houston, TX, this summer. I spent time tending to seasonal organic vegetables and conducting farmer market booths. Through this opportunity, I have been able to learn more about the business of agriculture.
I enjoyed my internship experience this summer. Sweetwater Farms HTX is a family-owned, urban farm. The farm is 7 minutes from the loop in the middle of a food desert. This urban farm sits on 6 acres of land and is primarily used to teach inner city youth about agriculture through its partnership with TWEF.
This summer, I was invited to attend the Southern Family Farmers and Food Systems Conference. I attended classes on hydroponic farming, soil regeneration, crop planning, maintaining soil health, and post-harvest food handling.

High School Memories:
Semester project reveal at Energy Institute High School
Attending a project-based learning high school prepared me for college. My most notable project was creating a water filter to combat the water issue in Flint, Michigan.
Art Museums are still my favorite…
We always visit a few when we travel. This is a shot from visiting art installations at Wonderspace.
